Welcome!
This site is intended to be an introduction to mindfulness, meditation, and Buddhism and includes potential ideas for starting and practicing mindfulness and meditation. We all have our own journeys, and if yours has led you here, I hope you learn something and benefit in some way.
This site was originally created as an easily accessible, portable personal reference based on notes I made related to mindfulness, meditation, and Buddhism (over time, I added several new sections like Mindful Movement, Chronic Pain, etc.). These notes are basic overviews, and there are many resources out there to explore everything here in much more depth. My exploration of these things began when, out of curiosity, I read Buddhism Without Beliefs by Stephen Batchelor, the material resonated with me, and I had a positive experience meditating. While I routinely practice and incorporate things here into my life, I do not consider myself an "expert" on the material included here.
This site is not intended to provide psychiatric or medical advice (read website disclaimer) nor is it intended to "convert" anyone to Buddhism or any ideology- it is about sharing ideas and practices that may be useful for navigating this thing we call "life," regardless of whether one is religious or areligious.
Some material here is verbatim from the references listed. I am extremely grateful to all those who have spent far more time studying and practicing the material here than I have and who have shared their experiences and understanding via books, articles, podcasts, videos, lectures, etc.
There is a saying "come and try, see for yourself." Give mindfulness and meditation a try, and simply discard them if they aren't beneficial.
